Please stop calling these creatures “ROM” or “ROMA” , they have no connection with the city of Rome , any part of Italian history, or România and it’s history.
they don’t call themselves “ROMA” and never had. They use the word TZIGANI / CYGANY or their tribal name in more traditional communities .
This name was created in 1972 in London by the Romanian communists delegation . The goal was to separate these creatures and give them their own country at the loss of România and Bulgaria (Bulgaria refused to be part of this) , but this failed because gypsies refused to live in their own community among themselves.
