This made me cry. I have stray cats as pets. I’m in the sticks so they just show up and now you have a cat. One was a huge jerk her whole life to most people. I refused to give her up. She had arthritis and was a jerk … would she survive a shelter long enough to find a family? I couldn’t take that risk. She had an aneurysm last year at 13, and I promised her while still awake (I knew she was dying but not why or what time table) that I would come find her when it was my turn. That was May 2021. In January 2022 I saw her in my coma, sitting on the pillow like she always did irl when I was sick or hurt. That kind of love with a pet is amazing. Kicking them out when you’re done is evil imo.
