A small scientific correction: human biological variation is real, but it does not divide humanity into discrete, natural “races.” Skin colour is largely an evolutionary adaptation to ultraviolet radiation and therefore correlates strongly with geography and ancestry, but human genetic diversity is continuous and overlapping rather than partitioned into clear racial groups. Modern humans share a recent African origin and are genetically remarkably similar, although populations do differ statistically in the frequencies of many genetic variants. So “race does not exist scientifically” is a little too categorical: race is not a valid biological classification of humans, whereas ancestry and population structure are scientifically real and measurable.
